Tomb of Qin Shi Huangdi, China

By Maros M raz (Maros)

The tomb of the first Chinese emperor and founder of the Qin dynasty, Qin Shi Huang, is hidden in the bowels of a hill in Central China.

The funerary complex also consists of an intricate network of underground caves filled with all kinds of objects that could be useful to the emperor in his afterlife, including an army of clay figurines known as the terracotta army.

The tomb itself with the governor’s body has not yet been excavated.

Perhaps in honor of its ancestors, the Chinese government will never allow more archaeological research at this site.
