Located south of the equator, in the central Indian Ocean, this island is an atoll that looks almost like a perfect tropical resort, with white sand beaches and turquoise waters. 

However, after the British forcibly evicted local residents in 1973, a large military base was founded, and only authorized persons have access to the island.
